Poker rules for beginners - introduction

Welcome to Rules-Poker's rules for beginners. This site is intended to teach beginners how to play the four most popular poker games; Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha high/low and Seven Card Stud.

This site is created to help people learn how to play the game they want to play. It is not a strategy site to help people improve their game, but rather a site that explains rules and how to start up a game of ones own.

One thing in common for every form of poker is the ranking of poker hands. The goal in every form of poker is to get a poker hand. In most games you have to have the highest hand in order to win the pot but in some games your goal is to make the worst poker hand. In some games you must have both the highest and lowest hand to win the entire pot, those games are called high/low games.
